2 Oz Dahtah Lure Kits Hey I'm from Massachusetts what can I say I pahk my cah in my yahd :)

01/22/2021 Please note these kits have been backordered for some time. I found a bin of 2oz bodies that were destined to be painted. Instead I will be releasing these as kits. These bodies have oversized inset reverse squid eyes. Same body as the originals. When these are gone I have no plans to make more for some time due to other production commitments which have been astrew due to Covid.

Another Salty's kit exclusive! 2 Oz size, 5" long, stainless steel thru-wired this is an exact copy of an original Danny Pichney darter!
These will swim with a nice darting action from side to side. These were fish slayers and we've re-created them!
This is a size favored by many and one of the best designs because it has only one belly hook. Easy fish release and MUCH safer while surfcasting!
The 2 oz dahtah mimics the size of much of the bait found here in the Northeast.
All kits are sanded out to 150 grit and require minimal sanding-see the special notes below!

All components are included except for split rings and hooks, which we recommend a VMC 2/0 treble hook for the belly
and 5/0 VMC dressed siwash tail on this lure. We use only USA made components in our kits!

This lure is an advanced kit. It requires gluing/epoxying the nose wire in, minor sanding, and painting/finishing.
These kits are all turned on our dedicated kit cnc machine and drilled with precision and duplication second to none!

Can be painted with Salty's Lure Paint, Createx Air brush paints, or with acrylic paints and a small brush from AC Moore,
let them dry thoroughly and coat with a few coats of clear spray paint or brush with epoxy etc in thin coats for more durability.
Lures need to be finish sealed to prevent water intrusion. More information on our free lure forum linked above.
We carry a full line of epoxy topcoats, hooks, paint, etc here: Lure Hardware

Lures sold individually.

Special notes on finishing this lure.
It is recommended that you very lightly "debur" sand the edges of the face of the lure using light finger pressure with 220 sandpaper so that you don't remove any stock.
We have lightly deburred the nose of these by hand with a miniature brush sander. Kits are not sold as paint ready so light sanding may be required on the head of this lure.
Don't use a real thick coat of epoxy on these, keep them lightweight, and always use a loop knot on the front, never tie direct.
Please read the pictorial and front swivel/nose loop setting on this lure should be vertical.

"I ran into a friend few nights ago at a social event. This fellow surfcasters has been plying the beaches for more years then I have been walking.
This alone should tell you that dude is aged like a fine wine. But he has not only a lifetime of experience in the surf to draw from, he is also one of the most knowledge surfcasters when it comes to fishing with lures.

He told me he bought a small 2 ounce Danny Darter kit from Salty and assembled it. He took it for a swim recently and could not believe what this lure did!
He said the last time he seen a darter dart that unpredictably was when Danny Pichney made them and never since. I thought it was interesting observation coming from a guy who’s been at his craft for so long.
Having guys from that generation excited about something….let’s just say that those guys have seen it all and went out through a lot of overpriced #### over the years."

Here's some handiwork pictures sent in by customers, Great job!
