1.25 oz Size Crazy Bugger Swimmer

Perfect for ANY Saltwater top water fishing for BIG Stripers, Blues and more! This lure at 4.5" is the perfect size to mimic bait found in Northeast waters and beyond! Hand tied buck tails with Mirage flash! VMC Permasteel 4X strong 1/0 Belly hook, 4/0 tail hook, 150 lb swivel, 2X strong 90 lb split rings. Stainless Steel hardware where possible. Realistic holographic eyes for maximum effect!  I make all my plugs standard with Siwash hooks for best hook-up!  The Crazy Bugger swimmer has caught fish from Canada to Florida including Stripers, Bluefish, Jack Crevalle, Permit, Bluefin and more! It has proven itself as a consistent producer.  It has a very nice swimming action when used with a loop knot and fished with 10-20 lb test lines. Out of every lure I make I get the most impressive feedback and glowing reports out of this lure. It has a VERY seductive wiggle swimming action that just drives fish CRAZY! Look for an additional new version at shows of this based on the original lure "The Crazy Hulio" made by Tom Makati many years ago.  This lure was what I based the original crazy bugger design on and is prefect for fishing calm back bays and coves where heavy current doesn't exist. Put one on the end of your rod today and experience the fun of fishing real wood lures!
Proper presentation of this swimmer lure is to cast then very slowly retrieve, stop occasionally,  and also occasionally twitch the rod tip to let the lip throw some water. These lures are designed to be surface swimmers, on a faster retrieve they will swim just below the surface-this is where you'll find you catch the most fish-in the top two feet of the water column.  They will wiggle back and forth and move the tail side to side. One of the keys is to be real erratic, and let it push a nice "V" wake on top of the water. Twitch once and pause...then reel slowly etc. I've seen people try to fish these by ripping them through the water at lightning speed.  DON'T! Work them slow and it will produce for you! Fish key in on the V wake and wiggle action that these produce and will explosively hit these lures!

"We slammed!!! the bass yesterday in Jamestown and the banana crazy bugger led the way before dying a distinguished death when a big slob wrapped me up in the rocks.. still it was a true early season fall blitz and i hope that ups shows up this morning 'cause i'm back there tonite! "

"During an hour or so around sundown on the xxxxxxxx River (the best fishing time), it is by far the best producing lure."

"Excellent affordable prices for made in USA plugs that have great action."
" It is my favorite swimmer by far and I thank you for making such a killer plug at a great price."
"I love the Crazy Bugger . . . and so do Striped Bass! Awesome lure. Deadly action in the water." Swims CRAZY!

I get asked a lot about what colors are best?  The Olive/White Crazy Bugger mimics a nice size Tinker Mackerel color and size.. Black/Silver makes a perfect Bunker imitation. Electric Squid is a great color to imitate frightened squid as they flee predator fish in the rips and rocks of the northeast. Pearl White is the best imitation of a normal squid. Yellow or Parrot at sunrise or cloudy days. Parrot can also work good on sunny days too! Black/purple at night with the glow eyes is a killer if you softly light up the eyes in your headlamp. Same goes for the turquoise fire color, these are meant to be fished at night. On sunny days stick with a color that has a high definition color hue change on it....Olive/White, Blue/White, etc. Spend some time looking at the bait prevalent in your area and you will soon understand why certain colors and size can give you just that little bit extra advantage to entice a larger fish to take your lure. I've seen bass take this lure just dead drifted on Middle Ground rips when they are on squid like no other plug I've ever fished. Fish it into the first curl of the wave give it a twitch and hang on :)
