(1) 2oz package, enough to make 1 quart of sealer or more.
Required additional:
(1) Qt Acetone solvent (Flammable-read mfg recommendations)
(1) Metal Quart container or Glass pickle jar style container of good length, container must be sealable and non-plastic. Best container is a tall glass pickle jar with a metal lid. Be sure to mark the container with Acetone & CAP marking for safety.
How does it work:
Dissolve approximately ½ of pellets in quart of Acetone. This process will take multiple days. Please be patient with this. It is entirely normal for the pellets to sink to the bottom initially, but the more contact you have with the solvent the faster the pellets dissolve into the liquid. You will see the Acetone become thicker and thicker in mixture when stirred. You can add the pellets slowly to get the consistency you would like, allowing time for the pellets to fully dissolve. It does help to occasionally stir this mixture when dissolving. We don’t recommend adding all the pellets in one package simultaneously. If you use smaller than a 1 quart container, you must adjust the quantity of pellets added.
Once pellets are dissolved, stir the mixture (try not to shake since it can introduce air bubbles that will stick to your lure). Making sure your lure is clean and has no dust/chips inside, Dip lure into seal coat and remove. Allow to drip into the container or a solid surface such as a pie plate or cookie sheet and hang. Do not touch the lure for at least a half hour. The acetone will dry and leave a layer of polymer on surfaces of the lure, and it will cover all the end grain as well. After the lure has sat for 30 minutes it should be dry, if you touch it and it feels cold it isn’t dry. Let it dry some more. You can dip again once dry for a thicker coat although in most cases one dip is enough. You can lightly sand between dips although it should not be needed. The recommended consistency is not a thick slurry but a more watery mix. Too little and you will have too much solvent without much sealer, it will take more dips to build up. Too thick and you will get hardened drips off the bottom of the lure which will need to be trimmed. Maximum hardness is achieved in 1-2 hours and lures can be painted from there.
Any drips can be collected (not off wax paper) once dry and put back into your mix, it will re-liquefy almost instantly. It helps to have a pie plate or something to put under hanging lures. You can use a small brush to apply right in the can, brushing up to longer lures but will need to keep very wet since the sealer will dry very quickly. You can dip one side, let dry, then dip the other side and dry also for longer lures. Areas that overlap will have slightly thicker coat but the sealer typically will not leave a line when dipped and flipped like this.
It is important to understand NOT to touch the lure while the sealer is drying. Areas like the bottom of eyes, or even the bottom of the lure may have a drip on them but this will flow into the wood fibers and disappear without intervention! Multiple dips will coat thicker and thicker, which is evident by a shiny surface.
These pellets are all natural and manufactured using wood fibers in a special process. They are non-toxic and 100% biodegradable. Excess sealer can be brushed out and allowed to evaporate outside in a well-ventilated area then discarded. Do not pour down drain. It is not water soluble.

This process has been proven by lure builders to work with many types of paints including water based and solvent. It is your responsibility to test for your purposes.
Keep product away from children. Do not ingest-(please don’t eat), Acetone is a polar solvent and can be absorbed through the skin so use with gloves is recommended. Use common sense! Make sure to properly mark can or bottle so it’s readily shown what’s inside.
Always work in a well ventilated area! Should not be used around children.
Paint vapors are heavier than air and will settle at floor level.
